I'm not the most consistent of bloggers...

OK, I'll admit. I'm not the best at blogging, as evidenced by the last time I updated. It was April. Since then so much has happened. My goal is to catch you up in this post, then get a little better at updating consistently.
School: I survived high school! I survived College applications! My reward? More homework! I'm currently skiing for Saint Michael's College in Colchester,VT. I'm also doing my biathlon training with the Vermont Collegiate Biathlon Team. It going well. I really can't complain. I have amazing teammates, amazing facilities, and amazing coaches.
Skiing: See above? What else can I say? I'm spending this lovely thanksgiving weekend in Foret Montmorency, Quebec. Have snow, will ski. Our goal is to ski as much as possible. Lets see...3 hours a day(minimum) x 4 days = 12 hours of skiing. Jealous? You should be.
Life: I'm in college...I am a college student...I live a life that is polar opposite to the college student stereotype, with the exception of the ramen noodles. I definitely still survive on ramen noodles.

09/10 Season Highlight Reel...Fast Forwarded

Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll...it's been a while since I last updated this...Shall we do a highlight reel of the last few months? Actually, lets fast forward it.
The rest of worlds: Eye opening. The other racers were like speedboats...I was a canoe. It was a great experience, and I think the team had a good time. With the exception of the disease that ripped through the team hitting almost all of us in some way or another we were in pretty good spirits. Unfortunately our disease made it impossible to ever find an empty bathroom in "The Ward" as our floor was known. After a disastrous trip home (missed connections, barfing teammates, you know, the usual), we all eventually made it home...where we all immediately left again to go race somewhere else.
The rest of the nor-am circuit: Lets see...Lake Placid...wait that's all. It was good. Shot pretty well, saw everyone...
highlights: crepes, animal crackers, sugar on snow, and giant peanut butter cups
Canadian Nationals: New ski boots! Had really good races, really good shooting, and some pretty sweet results. Lemme think...anything else? Oh yeah, apparently I'm not Canadian anymore.
US Nationals: Never happened. I have no idea what you are talking about.
Last ski of the year: Weekend before Easter. Record is still April 26.
University Search: Finally finished the applications which surprisingly didn't kill me. I also actually got into university, which considering my high school attendance record is a miracle.
It's been a long season. Cant wait till the next. In the meantime, you get to hear about swimming! Yay, swimming!

It's An American Thing

After an adventure travelling we have arrived in Torsby. Here's a run down of the travel of the last few days. Flight to Newark was super fast, and on a tiny plane. By tiny plane I mean like one seat on one side, and two seats on the other. Then it was really easy to get from terminal to terminal cause as soon as you walk up the gate from the plane there was a big banner directing you to the shuttle to terminal C. Got there and met up with Roleigh, Kelly, and Afton , as well as Aftons mom. The coach met us after we boarded the plane. We then flew to Oslo , no I did NOT sleep on the flight yes my life DOES suck right now. We then sat in Oslo airport for a couple (4) hours.
We then got on the Shuttle to come to Torsby. LONGEST bus ride of my life as we weren't allowed to sleep (to help adjust to the time zone). It was a ridiculously fun drive though, and they've already decided that the theme of this trip is "its an american thing," (a jibe at how I never know whats going on).
Yes, you did note an absence of many team members. Roleigh, Kelly, Afton , Casey, Conrad, and I were here early. Grace, Addie, and Leif missed their flight in Munich and didn't get to Oslo till late last night. Ethan's flight was delayed and he didnt make his connection so he's getting here later today.
Oh, and Conrads rifle is stuck somewhere in Germany , but dont worry, we're expecting it soon.
We've been equipped with almost all of our gear, which is really exciting. Though as someone pointed out, we all look like Smirf's, because this years team color is Turquoise.
We went out for a ski earlier today and the trails are fantastic. Everything is amazing, and you get to see all the teams skiing too. They all speak differant languages so its cool to listen as you ski by.
